The 2009–10 Louisville Cardinals men's basketball team represented the University of Louisville Cardinals in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was coached by Rick Pitino in his ninth year at the school.[2] Louisville is a member of the Big East Conference. 2009–10 was Louisville's final year playing at Freedom Hall. The Cardinals finished the season 20–13, 11–7 in Big East play and lost in the second round of the 2010 Big East Men's Basketball Tournament. They received an at-large bid to the 2010 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament, earning a 9 seed in the South Region where they lost to 8 seed California in the first round.
